Senator Neil Anderson Retains Leadership and Key Committee Roles

State Senator Neil Anderson will retain his leadership role as the Illinois Senate Republican Caucus Chair for the 104th General Assembly. He’ll also serve as the top Republican Spokesperson on three Senate Committees.

“I want to thank Leader John Curran for his trust and confidence in me to remain as Caucus Chair as we begin a new General Assembly,” said Senator Anderson. “These past two years in the role have been a great learning experience, and I’m excited to keep pushing our caucus forward and making sure the people we represent have a strong voice in Springfield.”

Along with his leadership role, Senator Anderson will serve as the Minority Spokesperson on the Executive, Assignments and Pension Committees. He will also be a member of the Senate Agriculture, Energy and Public Utilities, Health and Human Services and Insurance Committees.

The Senate Executive Committee plays a crucial role in shaping major legislation, often tackling the state’s most pressing and controversial issues. The Committee on Assignments is responsible for directing proposed bills to the appropriate committees, making it a key component of the legislative process.

“As the Senator representing all or parts of 15 counties—the most of any legislator in Illinois—I am committed to addressing the diverse economic and demographic needs of my district,” said Senator Anderson. “It is an honor to continue advocating for the people of my district and our state as a whole.”

Senator Anderson represents all or parts of Adams, Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Henry, Knox, Mason, McDonough, Menard, Mercer, Peoria, Rock Island, Schuyler, Stark, Tazwell, and Warren Counties.
