State Senator Neil Anderson (R-Andalusia) has released the below statement following the resignation announcement of Marc Smith, former Director of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services:
“Far too many innocent lives have been lost while countless others were put at risk due to this Administration’s failure to protect our most vulnerable children. After several calls for an overhaul of the system, it’s sickening we had to wait this long and for another scathing audit for something to finally be done. This administration has a job to protect the children in the state’s care, and so far they have repeatedly failed them.”
