State Senator Neil Anderson is pleased to announce that DMV Services will once again be available in Aledo, following months of work between his office, the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office, and local partners to identify a new location.
The new facility will be located at 129 E. Main Street in downtown Aledo, restoring a service that residents have gone without since the previous office closed in 2025.
“When the Aledo facility closed, it created a major inconvenience for people across Mercer County and western Illinois,” said Senator Anderson. “My office immediately began working with the Secretary of State’s Office to help find a new location and keep Driver Services in our community. I’m grateful we were able to get this done.”
The new location will offer additional space, improved parking, and an updated service model designed to make transactions more convenient for customers.
“Whether you’re renewing your license, getting a Real ID, or taking care of another service, you shouldn’t have to drive across the region to do it,” said Senator Anderson. “This is an important investment in our community, and I appreciate everyone who worked together to make it happen.”
The Secretary of State’s Office will announce an official opening date in the coming weeks.
