Anderson named Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus Co-Chair

This week, State Senator Neil Anderson was elected to serve as the co-chair of the Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus, which is the General Assembly’s largest caucus. Sen. Anderson will serve alongside State Representative Jerry Costello.

The bipartisan Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus seeks to protect and advance policies that promote hunting, fishing, trapping, and wildlife management.

“Long before I started serving the northwest region of Illinois as a state legislator, I was committed to and supportive of sporting and conservation issues,” said Sen. Anderson. “Growing up, the outdoors were a passion of mine, and one that I pass onto my children today. Serving on the Sportsmen’s Caucus, I’m dedicated to ensuring people of Illinois can continue to enjoy the outdoors.”

According to the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, Illinois has 1.31 million hunters and anglers who spend $2.34 billion annually and support more than 35,000 jobs.

“Illinois is an incredible state for sportsmen and women,” said Sen. Anderson. “We’re so fortunate to have access to land and several waterways where we can hunt and fish. I look forward to working with my colleagues to promote these activities for our citizens and future generations.”

Other members of the Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus include:

Senator Andy Manar (Co-Vice Chair)
