Anderson hosting free sportsmen’s and outdoorsmen’s update breakfast

Hunters, anglers, trappers, and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to State Sen. Neil Anderson’s Sportsmen’s and Outdoorsmen’s Update Breakfast Saturday, September 29, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Quad City Conservation Alliance Expo Center (2621 4th Avenue) in Rock Island.

The free event features officials from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Illinois Conservation Foundation, and Anderson.

“Hunting is a passion of mine, so I know how difficult it can be to keep track of all the new laws that come out of Springfield every year that impact hunters, anglers, and trappers,” Anderson said. “That, combined with all the dates, what you can hunt and when, how many tags you can get, among several other questions, it can understandably get a little confusing. This event is a chance for everyone to become more knowledgeable about the hunting season, understand all the dates and tag rules, and learn the new laws for this year. We want everyone, whether they hunt deer, wild turkey, waterfowl, or something else, to have a safe, legal, and fun hunting season.”

The Illinois Conservation Foundation will also be on hand to discuss conservation education and outdoor heritage programs that they sponsor in partnership with IDNR.  These include the Biodiversity Field Trip Grant Program, Schoolyard Habitat Grant Program, Wingshooting Program, Becoming an Outdoors Woman Program, National Archery in School Program, and others.

Attendees are asked to confirm their attendance to this free event by submitting an RSVP to Lori Yates at lyates@sgop.ilga.gov or call her at 217-782-2181.
