Children and their parents will have access to a wide variety of informational resources from local and state groups at a free event being hosted by Senator Neil Anderson on August 20 in East Moline.
The Children’s Safety Expo is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to noon, Aug. 20, at Glenview Middle School, 3100 7th St. in East Moline. More than 30 groups are participating in the Expo, which features a “Touch A Truck” exhibit and several demonstrations.
“The Children’s Safety Expo offers many fun and educational events for children and their parents, as well as information about daycare, college savings programs and safety issues,” Senator Anderson said. “This is also an opportunity for them to see their friends, explore a bunch of different kinds of vehicles, watch interesting demonstrations, and talk with representatives from community and state organizations.”
The Children’s Safety Expo features free admission, free refreshments and free legislative brochures. Information will be available about: daycare, I-Cash, Bright Start College Savings Program, fire safety, cyber bulling, after-school programs, dive team, financial security, Girl Scouts, and more.
