SPRINGFIELD – Senior citizens will have access to a wide variety of informational resources from local and state groups at a free event being hosted June 29 in Sterling by State Sen. Neil Anderson (Rock Island).
The Senior Health Fair is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to noon, June 29, at Challand Middle School, 1700 6th Ave. in Sterling. More than 50 groups are participating in the fair.
“The Senior Health Fair provides a one-stop setting for senior citizens and their families to find answers to their questions about matters like health services, safety and recreational opportunities,” Anderson said.
“This is an opportunity for senior citizens to socialize, voice their concerns, and gather all kinds of information about their communities and their state.”
The Senior Heath Fair will feature free refreshments and informational legislative brochures. Free blood pressure and non-fasting blood sugar screenings will be available, as well as an opportunity for people to dispose of unwanted prescription drugs (no liquids please).
