Local veterans had the opportunity to weigh-in on issues important to them during State Sen. Neil Anderson’s Veterans Advisory Committee Sept. 17 at the Moline Public Library.
Anderson started his Veterans Advisory Committee in an effort to offer veterans from across the district a forum to ask questions and offer suggestions on how lawmakers in Springfield can better support veterans. Anderson also provided them an update on new laws that could impact veterans across the state. Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs (IDVA) Director Stephen Curda, Ph.D., was also at the meeting to discuss important veteran issues and answer questions.
Anderson’s Veterans Advisory Committee include veterans from the Vietnam Veterans of American – Chapter 669 (Moline), the American Legion Post 1166 (Reynolds), the American Legion Post 902 (Rock Falls), and American Legion Post 296 (Sterling).
