Anderson Reacts to State of the State
State Senator Neil Anderson joined fellow lawmakers in the chambers of the Illinois House of Representatives Feb. 4 to listen to Gov. Bruce Rauner’s first State of the State Address. Anderson sat with Democratic State Representative Mike Smiddy who represents the northern half of the 36th District.
“This was my first State of the State, and it was amazing to see all of Illinois’ legislators together in one chamber listening to the Governor’s speech,” said Anderson. “It was a good reminder that Illinois now has a bipartisan government. I’m looking forward to the things we can do, working together, to make Illinois a better place for its citizens.
“The Governor focused on several issues that are very important to the people of my district, like jobs,” Anderson noted. “As things really get going this spring, I’m focused on good-paying jobs for the people in my district and putting Illinois back on track. I look forward to working with the Governor, and all the members of the General Assembly to accomplish those goals.”
