Anderson to host bi-partisan “Blue Balloon” event thanking first responders for service to the district
State Senator Neil Anderson (Rock Island) is asking the public to join him and fellow legislators Representative Mike Smiddy and Representative Pat Verschoore, as well as other local officials and law enforcement representatives, to show their support for first responders, police officers, and firefighters on “Blue Balloon Day,” September 30, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Anderson’s Moline office located at 1825 Ave of the Cities.
“We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the police officers, firefighters, and other first responders who work tirelessly to keep our families safe,” said Anderson. “I hope you will join me, and other area officials, as we gather to show our support for these brave men and women.”
“A Blue Balloon,” is a burgeoning national movement that aims to increase awareness about the dangers that police officers, firefighters, and first responders face on the job. This bi-partisan event is a way to say thank you to these people for the important work they do. The event will feature short speeches from the elected officials in attendance as well as from 36th District public safety officials.
