Anderson, McCombie to Host Sterling Senior Fair June 27

State Sen. Neil Anderson (Rock Island), and State Rep. Tony McCombie (Savanna) will host a free Senior Health Fair from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. June 27 at Challand Middle School, 1700 6th Ave in Sterling.

“The Senior Health Fair is a great opportunity for Sterling-area seniors to come out and learn more about the resources available to them not only in their communities, but also from the state. I hope a lot of people come out and take advantage of this resource,” said Anderson.

The fair, which is free and open to the public, will feature free blood pressure and non-fasting blood sugar screenings, as well as information on safety in the home, medication safety reviews and a Silver Sneakers demonstration at 9:15 a.m. 

“We are committed to assisting our seniors and their families become more aware of all the services that may improve their health, financial security, and overall quality of life." said Rep. McCombie.  “The fair is a great way for our office to provide outreach by bringing the providers together at one place for convenience and awareness for our senior population."

Refreshments and giveaways, and free informational legislative brochures will also be available. More than 45 groups are participating in the fair.
